Middle Trace (work in progress)
Middle Trace is a visual diversification inspired by the geography, history, and cultural aspects of religions in the Mediterranean. This region has always been a melting pot of encounters and conflicts.
The geography, history, and cultural aspects of religions are a mixture that forms a collective structure for the individual and society, an interwoven fabric that is difficult to separate. Over time, whether consciously or unconsciously those deep roots create a sense of belonging.
The project consists of three parts:
– Territory: Deals with the geography of the Mediterranean, and the change of borders over time.
– Record: focuses on the historical aspect, and the encounter between the different cultures in the Mediterranean.
– Ingrained: questioning the social, and cultural aspects of religions that often determine the crucial ceremonies in a person’s life, such as birth, marriage, and death.
Middle Trace is a multidisciplinary series based on reformulation, mixing elements, and creating hybrid forms visually inspired by this context. Allowing familiar forms, materials, and textures that can revive deeply rooted elements.
